Ushahidi Weekly Update (#8)

We are a growing community. This weekly report is for the whole community and team to share what you are working on and what you need help with. Highlight your presentations, events, code and more. These reports will go out every Tuesday.

The Crowdmap team changes including playing with Apigee,an api gateway, and Tilemill. It has also been transitioned to a new hosting provider to help with uptime and scalability.

The Ushahidi core team is Angie investigating CSV report uploads/downloads issues and updating custom forms. A Ushahidi core code release is scheduled for May 29th. We will be doing community testing this week. (This will be mainly a bug fix release.)
Swift River has a new UI update which we are testing internally. The beta launch is pending, but we are getting closer. We are also testing an update to the Android (APK.)

Random Hacks of Kindness is June 1- 3, 2012. There are often hacks involving Ushahidi. If you are doing one or would like to, let heather know so that she can help support it.

There are a number of community deployers who have not upgraded to the latest and more secure installation. We will be beginning a campaign to help people upgrade. If you are available to coach deployers through this, let us know on the community dev chat or mailing list. Call it Community Upgrade project.

Heather is attending Random Hacks of Kindness preparation meetings for Toronto on May 15th and June 1 - 3, 2012.

Heather met with UN OCHA Region of Latin America and Caribbean offices (Located in Panama). Other meeting attendees included staff from Plan and MSF.
