In particular, the "Ushahidi Platform v3.x" section contains information that is often misleading. Many details about this version of Platform have changed since.
This website is an extraction of the original Ushahidi wiki into a static form. Because of that, functions like logging in, commenting or searching will not work.

Some of the features you'd like Ushahidi v2.X to have have already been created by other people as plugins and themes. These are pieces of code that can be added to the core Ushahidi code; roughly speaking, themes change the look-and-feel of an Ushahidi site, and plugins add to its functions.
To get to the addons in your site, go to the admin dashboard (yoursite/admin) and click the "addons" tab.
